Great Old Ones Survivors is a Cthulhu-mythos survival roguelike that I'm making at Crayen, my company, in Rust with Bevy. A complete run takes six minutes and needs only one thumb. The game is still in the making and is coming to iPhone (iOS 26 or newer).
How it plays
Move with the on-screen joystick while your weapons fire automatically. Each level-up lets you pick a new weapon or an upgrade. With 17 weapons and 5 slots, the goal is to find the combination that clears the screen.
- Heroes. James is a detective who starts with The Gun. Margaret is a huntress who starts with the Shotgun.
- Maps. Start in Yellowstone forest, then beat it to unlock Innsmouth Coast.
- Between runs. Spend the gold you earn on 12 permanent upgrades, and climb each map's Game Center leaderboard.
Fair to play
There are no in-app purchases, energy systems or timers, so you can play as many runs as you like. The game works offline, saves your progress on your device and doesn't need an account. It does have ads: an optional one lets you revive after death, and some runs start with a short one.
