Rusty Unity Hub

Rusty Unity Hub window listing three demo Unity projects with their git branch, Unity version and an Open button

Rusty Unity Hub is a small alternative to the official Unity Hub, written in Rust with egui. It started as a pet project and focuses on one job: finding a project and opening it in the right editor.

What it does

  • Find projects. Scan a folder, drop one on the window, or import your list from the Unity Hub.
  • Search and sort. Use keyboard shortcuts to get around, and see at a glance which projects have their editor installed.
  • Open. Launch a project in the editor it asks for, or in any other installed one.
  • Stay responsive. Scanning runs in the background, so the window keeps working while it walks the disk.

Try it

CI builds the app on Windows, macOS and Linux. To get the current version on any of them, build it with Cargo:

git clone git@github.com:Leinnan/rusty_hub.git
cd rusty_hub
cargo run --release

The Releases page has a Windows download, windows-build.zip, but it's still the original 0.1.0 version from 2022.

Thanks

Most of what I know about how Unity Hub stores its data comes from UnityLauncherPro.
